Mark Phimister 
Regional Vice President (Europe) at iBasis

After joining iBasis 13 years ago and establishing its international finance organization, Mark moved to the position of Managing Director EMEA where he successfully managed an entrepreneurial team that significantly grew the iBasis voice business in the region. As a result of the business merger of iBasis and KPN Global Carrier Service, Mark spent 2 years in The Netherlands as a key member of the business integration team with primary responsibility for finance and administration. In December 2009 he took up his current role of RVP Europe where he is responsible for sales, purchase and business development of voice and mobile roaming services.A qualified Chartered Accountant, Mark held senior positions in consumer electronics and automotive engineering businesses prior to joining iBasis.

 

David Vigar

Director Carrier Relations at Nexmo 

David Vigar is the Director of Carrier Relations at Nexmo. David has managed relationships in the messaging and voice space for nine years. He built carrier relations in voice for Tele2 and at iBasis-KPN during their $93.3m merger, where he also developed internal processes and reporting. David led the early development of iBasis’ SMS business. A keen flautist and wine collector, David holds a BA in Economics with Legal Studies from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom.

 

Michael Winterson 

Managing Director at Equinix 

Michael Winterson joined Equinix in September 2007 when the company acquired London AIM listed IXEurope.  At Equinix, he held the positions of VP of Marketing and VP of Sales before his current role as Managing Director, Equinix Services.  Joining IXEurope as part of the startup management team in January 2000, he brings over 14 years of datacenter services experience and held senior positions in country management, sales and marketing.  Before IXEurope, Michael was involved in two other technology startups in Europe that were eventually sold to US and Japanese companies.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and French from Northwestern University and a master’s degreein International Economics from the Graduate Institute – Geneva.  An itinerant American, Michael fell in love with Europe at an early age and has never looked back.

 

Andrew Dodsworth

Vice president, BT Global Telecom Markets (GTM)

Andrew was appointed to lead GTM at the start of November 2014 having previously occupied a number of senior positions within the Division, most recently as COO. He sits on the BT Global Services European Management Board and is also president of CGNS Ltd., BT’s international-asset ownership and trading subsidiary. With over 30 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, the last 18 being in international markets, Andrew has seen many changes in our industry and regularly speaks on change and the challenges we all face in the coming years. Andrew has a BA (Hons) in business and marketing from Plymouth University and diplomas of the Market Research Society and Chartered Institute of Marketing.In his spare time, besides cooking, collecting wine and looking after his garden, Andrew enjoys supporting organisations for disabled and disadvantaged young people.

Ben Hedges

Chief Marketing Officer at Linx

Ben has been leading the Marketing, Business Development and Member Relations team at The London Internet Exchange (LINX) since January 2011. With a strong background in digital marketing, having previously held several senior roles at digital marketing agencies, Ben has overseen the International expansion of LINX and the creation of a channel programme for carriers and datacentres. He can be found at many of the industry's top networking events, educating new partners on LINX’s membership service and the benefits of peering, globally and has spoken recently at events such as International Telecoms Week, NANOG, the Global Peering Forum and CDN World. LINX are one of the biggest exchange operators in the world and currently operate six peering LANs across the UK and USA. They are set to continue to expand their presence in the form of more Internet exchanges, growth in membership numbers and strong global presence in the future.
